Until now, nearly every skateboard truck on the market has been based on 1930’s roller-skate technology. Say goodbye to sloppy geometry, lousy steering control, and sluggish axle rebound!
Trucks are for turning. 100% grommet-free Seismic™ trucks simply do it better. Their patented spring system is integrated with a rock-steady steering geometry to let you make sharp turns with total control and no wobbliness, even at higher speeds. The coil springs, which return far more energy than urethane grommets, accelerate you out of turns with unparalleled ease and power.
Seismic springs’ progressive rates are calculated with Mathematica® software, using the world’s most advanced scientific model of skateboard carving dynamics. The result: Your turns get tighter at a velvety smooth, even rate as you weight the edge of the deck, so it’s incredibly easy to feel how far to lean to make turns of varying sizes. No twitchiness, no dead spots, just totally fluid response and a revolutionary combination of stability and maneuverability.
Some skaters can’t believe at first that any truck can make sharp turns while feeling so smooth and stable. If you’re used to floppy or squirrelly turning, Seismic trucks may feel a bit tight at first, especially if you don’t thrust through your turns. But it won’t take you long to adjust to the superior handling and fall in love with the superior power!
Note: Seismic springs do not absorb vertical shocks; they simply do what grommets are supposed to, only far better.
To accommodate varying body sizes and skating styles, Seismic springs come in multiple strengths and two formulas. Adding tension to the springs creates even more customized response. Unlike grommets, the springs don’t need to break in, they’re not temperature sensitive, and they’ll virtually never wear out!
The first of the new generation of carving-oriented trucks, and still the best! Seismic trucks deliver seriously advanced performance for longboarding, slalom & downhill, bowl & pool riding, all-purpose cruising, and cross-training for snowboarding, surfing, etc. All-around skating is back!
Unlike conventional brands, the inner face of Seismic trucks is a smooth, even plane. It can’t possibly hang up on curbs or the lips of ramps and bowls. The head of the pivot pin can’t be damaged by grinding or lap-overs (unless you wear all the way through the axle).
Seismic trucks are easy to adjust and maintain. All you need is the standard Allen wrenches (included) used to mount trucks and tighten king pins.
Freestyle innovator and Yale graduate Dan Gesmer (profiled in the 1988 Powell-Peralta video Public Domain) wasn’t satisfied with the old roller-skate technology. He spent ten years analyzing skateboard carving dynamics and developing the complex mathematical models used to calculate the power rates for the custom-made Seismic springs
